(Covering the last 24 hours)
This is going to be a short one today, because if I’m honest, we’re feeling totally demoralised.
We’ve covered just 45 nautical miles in the last 24 hours, while much of the fleet appears to be flying along. It’s hard not to feel frustrated when you’re putting everything into it and the numbers simply aren’t reflecting the effort.
🌊 Working Hard, Going Nowhere
We’re pretty sure we’re still dealing with an unfavourable current. We’ve had to keep adjusting the boat’s heading just to counteract it trying to push us off course. The result is that we’re rowing our butts off, often in constant rain showers, being battered from all directions — and yet the miles just aren’t stacking up.
It’s especially tough when you know you’re doing everything right.
We’ve checked underneath the boat to make sure there’s nothing wrapped around the rudder or trailing in the water. Everything looks clear. So for now, it seems this is just something we’re going to have to put up with until we find a more favourable current.
At this point, we’re really hoping the next 24 hours bring better conditions — or honestly, even just a wildlife sighting to lift morale for a few minutes.
That’s all for today.
We’ll check in again tomorrow.
