They will face raging seas, 20-foot waves, violent storms, howling winds, scorching heat and relentless ! humidity in legs 1 and 2 and sub-zero temperatures capable of causing hypothermia on leg 3. There will be weeks without any sight of land that will test their resilience day after day.

Dangerous Wildlife and Injuries Encounters
with sharks and the constant threat of marlin strikes, plus constant blisters, salt rashes, and the risk of sunstroke, are daily threats.

Chronic Sleep Deprivation
Rowing shifts of two hours on, two hours off mean the crew will endure severe fatigue and disrupted sleep for the entire journey.

Navigational Hazards
They must steer clear of vast cargo ships, avoid rogue waves, and constantly adjust course in unpredictable seas.
